Administrator
Position in the Organization
& Role:
The Senior Administrator (SRA) is responsible for maintaining and
controlling an accounting system that properly reflects the financial
position of VAL-CO BV. The SRA ensures the timely preparation of
financial statements and is also responsible for ensuring that proper
accounting practices are being followed and that accounting activities
are in accordance with the established legal, statutory, regulatory,
and company procedures. The SRA must be aware and appreciative of the
international character of the VAL-CO organization and our business.
In this position the Senior
Administrator:
1) Ensures that VAL-CO BV complies with all
Corporate financial policies, statutory requirements, and government
tax and related regulations.
2) Assumes responsibility for the effective preparation,
and maintenance, of internal (and external) financial records and
analyses.
3) Assists in the development (and implementation) of
financial information and control systems, including general ledger,
budgeting, cost allocation, and other subsystems.
4) Effectively coordinates Accounting personnel, ensuring
optimal performance.
5) Performs administrative functions for the Accounting
department.
- Ensures effective financial internal controls for
the Company. Continually evaluates established policies and procedures,
and proposes modifications when necessary.
- Works to update systems including HR/payroll, fixed
asset management, expense management, cash management, etc.
- Performs credit worthiness evaluations on clients
and potential clients.
6) Assists with IT initiatives and the continuous
improvement of the Company’s
MRP system (King Business
Software).
7) Works closely with VAL-CO BV’s Supply Chain Manager to ensure that
inventory procedures are maintained & developed and that the
valuation of inventories is accurate.
8) Maintains effective communication and coordination with VAL-CO
personnel, departments, and management.
- Advises department managers regarding accounting
entries, reports, and comparative analyses.
- Ensures the timely completion of reports, records,
and other documentation.
- Facilitates consistency at all levels of accounting
operations.
9) Ensures that the Company’s professional reputation is
maintained.
10) Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well
maintained.
- Stays informed of trends and changes in the
accounting and finance fields.
- Completes special accounting projects as assigned.
11) Like all VAL-CO employees, the conduct of the Senior
Administrator must be consistent with good character and integrity.
Profiel kandidaat
Requirements: VAL-CO BV is looking for a proactive and hands on
personality that is determined to add value to the Company. The
candidate must hold an accounting degree on a Bachelor level.
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years solid experience in a
Senior accounting position and must be used working in an international
(US GAAP) environment with a demonstrated progression of assignments
with increasing responsibility.
The candidate must be an excellent communicator and fluent in both
English and Dutch. The successful candidate must be able to
multi-task, meet deadlines, able to prioritize work load and work
harmoniously with all levels of employees. The successful
candidate must possess expert computer skills, especially with MS Excel.
